After 4 volumes released by Cordelia Records, the last LP in the Obscure Independent Classics series was taken up by Terry Burrows’ Hamster Records, whose catalogue included post-industrial acts as well as un-classifiable rock stalwarts of the 1980s (Asmus Tietchens, Attrition, Rimarimba, R. Stevie Moore and Burrows’ own Jung Analysts). A unique position peculiar to the versatile Burrows allowed him to come up with a Obscure Independent Classics #5 LP mixing contributions from the Cordelia and Hamster stables in an unusual blend of surf rock and industrial rock experiments.  The disc displays a typical inclination for heavenly female vocals popping up here and there (Kaoru Hirose, Lydia Tomkiw, The Wild Strawberries). But there’s enough occasional eccentrics here to keep you on the edge of your seat.
