Two early live performances by french leaders of shamanism made rock – or is it the other way round? The recordings here offer intoxicating live renditions of vintage D.D.A.A. songs for one of the most rock-oriented releases by these people. The A side has bass guitar a-plenty, remnant from Young Marble Giants/Alternative TV’s music, I guess. The analog sound suits the music perfectly, contrary to some recent harsh sounding D.D.A.A. CD reissues. Drawings and layout typical from Jean-Luc André’s art of the times, especially his comic books (‘Mutants Du Kwan-Dong’ and ‘Passage De l’Etoile Ming’). See previous D.D.A.A. posts as well.

Last month I went to France and enjoyed an afternoon with
JPF and SMF. It was the highlight of my three weeks in that country. They are simply wonderful people. They made lunch for me and my three relatives, and took us for a walk on the beach. It was an absolutely incredible day!
I’ll thank them again right here. Thank you, JPF and SMF!
