I assume this was Sebastian Gandera‘s 2nd cassette, after ‘Un soir…’ (see previous post). As far as I can tell, the cassette had several releases abroad, among which Germany and Italy (pictured above is Gandera’s self release version on top, and a german reissue). ‘Le silence…’ further explores the realms of melancholic synth lines, with the addition of the (then new) sampler technology. Cinematographic references abound here as well: the beautiful track #8, one of the cassette’s highlights, incorporates excerpts from the french version of ‘Shining’ — the scene with the bartender, mixed with repetitve piano notes and sampler noises. #9 is based on Citizen Kane’s excerpts. Track #7 mixes slavic female vocals and other ethnic samples with piano lines. Track #4 recalls some of Music/Venosta ethnic/ambient efforts on their first LPs. Excellent cassette.

    Thanks Thanks Thanks for posting.
I wasn’t aware of this artist. Probably the missing link between Eyeless in Gaza and Vinnie Reilly. You made my day again !!!
