Kevin Kettle aka Cacophony 33, from Lincoln, England, released a good deal of cassettes in the 90s. Some were cold wave efforts or ambient music. ‘Carboot’ is one of his most adventurous. All plunderphonics of found reel tapes, including famous tunes like ‘Wimoweh’. A lot of splicing and sound treatments is used throughout, to the extend of producing an unrecognizable music magma at end of side 2.

The mention of Luc Ferrari as a dedicatee is charming. When this was released, his name wasn’t as hyped as it is today. John Oswald ‘Plunderphonics’ was released 1988-1989.

Reviews of this release and others can be found here and here.
